Abi Turner & Tanner Hathaway

When Tanner and I met, I had no clue where my life was heading, and I had barely switched to a job that paid a lot less than the one I had before, all because I felt that it was the right thing to do. But I'm glad I did, because it led me to where I needed to be when I needed to be there.

Tanner and I started hanging out because he was trying to learn French, and I was excited to have the chance to use even a little bit with someone. It took no time at all for me to realize that I liked him. And thankfully, he didn't take too long to ask me out.

Over this past year, as we've gotten to know each other, he has become my absolute best friend and greatest support. And I honestly don't have the words to express how grateful I am to have found him.

It all started in the American Fork 1st YSA Ward, where Abi graciously offered to teach me French. Language lessons quickly led to lots of talking, a love of spending time together, and a deep friendship.

The friendship led to love. September of 2025 we became officially boyfriend and girlfriend. After that we started seeing each other daily. Then on January 15th I proposed to Abi. After the decision on the June 9th date Abi realized that is the day she offered to start teaching me French.

I don't believe in coincidences. Instead I think of them as miracles. The age split of the YSA wards in Utah allowed me and Abi to be in the same ward. God led the First Presidency to make that inspired change. Allowing us to meet and fall in love with each other.
